Özet:
Purpose: The objective of this
work is to determine the difference of attitude between male and female
students according to school type by evaluating the attitudes of 9th grade
students who study at different schools in Erzurum towards physical education
and sport and to find out the reasons why they do sports or not. Material and
Method: An information survey has been applied in this work by Demirhan and
Altay in 2001 with the physical education and sport attitude scale which has 12
positive and 12 negative items prepared on 9th grade students to find out the
school type, gender, family and environment situation, and reasons for doing
sports or not. This scale and survey have been applied on 605 students who were
randomly chosen from 4 different high school types (Religious, Anatolian,
Female-Vocational and Vocational High School) in central districts of Erzurum.
These surveys have been analyzed by using SPSS 21 Package Program. All sub-problems
have been compared with information survey and the sport making reasons have
been detected. Findings: It has been seen that a significant difference between
students' gender, type of school, sporting situation, licensed sports
activities, sports facilities, sporting activities in schools, social pressures
and economic conditions, attitudes towards physical education and sports.
