Abstract:

The main subject of this study is to examine the literary etiology of the phe-nomenon of flaneur that started in the 19th century Paris passages and reached to the day within the framework of the action of walking. In this study, in which the con-cepts of walking and flaneur are mentioned in all aspects, the novel "Aus dem Leben eines Taugenichts' by German writer and poet Joseph von Eichendorff, and Yusuf Atılgan's novel "Aylak Adam" served as the main source for the study of flaneur concept. In the introductory part of the study, history, development, literary aspects of walking, relationship with flaneur concept and literary aspects of flaneur are discus-sed. In the first and second chapters, the main characters in Eichendorff's and Yusuf Atılgan's novels are examined in terms of psychology and their relations with flaneur are discussed. In the last chapter, the concept of flaneur which is discussed in both works has been compared and concluded in terms of flaneur.
