Biography
Dr. Uysal was born in Malatya, in 1958 and completed his primary and secondary educations at different cities of Turkey since his parents were civil servants. He received his high school diploma in 1976 and following the year, he went to the UK to complete his further education, studying first at the English courses both in Oxford and Bristol for one and a half year. He found a place at Croydon College, in South London and succeeded his A-level courses there. In 1981, he returned Turkey and took the Student Selection And Placement Examination. He graduated from Atatürk University , Faculty of Sciences and Literature, Department of English Language and Literature in 1985.
He started his teaching career as an English lecturer at the different faculties of Ataturk University, following his graduation. Until 1993, he basically taught English Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Writing, Translation. In 1993, he was appointed to the Department of English Language and Literature as an English Instructor. Before obtaining his Phd degree, he taught at Prep Classes. His main subjects for the prep classes were English Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Speaking and Phonetics. For upper classes, he taught English Literature, Literary Terms, English Fiction. He was appointed as an Assistant Professor to the same department in 1999. Since 2001, he has been teaching Mythology and Introduction to English Novel for the first year and second year students. He has also been teaching Modern English Novel, Feminist Studies and Short Story in the Modern British Fiction as postgraduate subjects for the post graduate students and with the co-operation of the University of Nebraska and Ataturk University, he has been continuing "The Global Classroom Project" as an instructor since 2006.
