Born in 1970 in Çaycuma district of Zonguldak, he completed part of his primary, secondary, and high school education in Germany and the rest in Zonguldak. He graduated from Atatürk University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1996, having started his studies there in 1992. In 1998, he began working as a Research Assistant in the Thermodynamics Department of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty at Atatürk University. He completed his Master's degree in Thermodynamics in 2002 and his Doctorate in 2007 in the same field. He became an Assistant Professor in 2009 and an Associate Professor in 2018 at Atatürk University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering. He has participated in numerous national projects. He has published more than 90 national and international publications, papers, and poster presentations. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şendoğan Karagöz served as Deputy Secretary General from 2016-2018 and as Secretary General from 2018-2022.
