Mustafa Tayfun Üstün completed his Master's degree in Nationalism and Ethnic Conflicts at Birkbeck College, University of London in 2010 and his PhD in Ethnic and Political Studies at the University of Exeter in 2016. He worked as a Research Fellow at the Department of History at Mustafa Kemal University between 2016 and 2017. He then served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Republican History at the same university from 2017 to 2019. Between 2019 and 2023, Mustafa Tayfun Üstün continued his academic work on regional studies, international politics, international migration, and the Armenian diaspora as a full-time Lecturer in the Department of International Relations at Atatürk University. He also served as Deputy Director of the Atatürk University Turkish-Armenian Relations Research Centre. Promoted to associate professor in 2023, Mustafa Tayfun Üstün currently continues his research as a visiting lecturer at King's College London. He has numerous national and international publications in his field and is currently involved in various research projects.
