Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Fikret ARARGÜÇ

Biography

Mehmet Fikret ARARGÜÇ was born in Erzurum in 1971, attended primary and secondary school in Germany, and received his high school diploma from Erzurum Anatolian High School in 1989.

Between 1990 and 1994, Arargüç completed his undergraduate studies at the English Language and Literature Department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Atatürk University and was then appointed to the same department in 1995 as a research assistant.

Arargüç completed his Master's degree in English culture and literature at the Institute of Social Sciences of Atatürk University in 1996. His thesis, "Rudyard Kipling and Kim in the Light of Colonialist and Imperialist Discourse," earned him the title of "Doctor of Philosophy" in 2002, and he was appointed Assistant Professor the following year.

In 2018, Arargüç, who has assumed many academic and administrative responsibilities at Atatürk University, was promoted to associate professor.

Between 2018 and 2022, Arargüç worked as an Education Attaché at the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Essen. After completing his service in the diplomatic corps, he joined the Ministry of National Education, Directorate General for European Union and Foreign Affairs in 2022 as a National Education Specialist.

ARARGÜÇ is currently an associate professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at the Faculty of Literature at Atatürk University. He has been in this position since September 14, 2012.

Besides academic books, he has also written many academic articles that have been published in international and domestic journals and has given many lectures and conferences at academic meetings.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fikret ARARGÜÇ is married with three children and speaks fluent English and German.
